Stephan Jones | SHOP

I am pleased to announce the launch of the Stephan Jones|SHOP.  We were about to have our opening celebration when our plans were put on hold due to the spread of Coronavirus. But the Shop is now live on my website at www.stephanjones/shop or on Instagram @stephanjones_shop, so you have the opportunity to visit virtually.

The Shop is part of an overall transition for me and my interior design studio that included a new website, a new logo, and even a new name, Stephan Jones|STUDIO. It began with moving into a new storefront location on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood in January. It was a thrilling transformational process, brewing for several years, then coming to fruition over the past eight months. 

This evolution is an expression of who I am as a designer. The new space was a way for me to break through and introduce my own point of view more clearly. As an extension of my aesthetic and identity, it needed to house my design studio and shop, while also serving as a reflection of the work I do as an interior designer. 

After a diligent search, I found the ideal spot. The Shop, and the Studio are beautifully integrated, flowing together in an exciting and inspiring way. The space itself – sunlit, simple, dotted with industrial elements and a hint of roughness – is in a pre-war building alive with the remnants of Old Hollywood.

Building-out the new space using the rough textures of the well-worn concrete floors and industrial vibe we set about defining the store and studio spaces with plywood faced architectural elements, which lends warmth. The interiors honor history and architecture, yet are of the moment, representing our current period in time. The process of designing it and filling it with objects was like starting with an empty canvas and creating an environment that tells my story.

When you enter, it feels like you are coming into someone’s home. The space offers a sense of being grounded, with a comfortable and approachable atmosphere. And it is so exciting to have a venue to display the objects that I have discovered. My passion is finding unique things that add value to interiors, now shoppers can actually step inside and see them. This is a way for me to connect with the community and show my aesthetic and the feeling I want to create in my work.

The Shop is a great resource for unique items and furnishings. For anyone looking for something particular, we can source it, using our connections with dealers around the U.S. and abroad. Because it is also the home of our business, it functions as an accessible, full-service design studio as well as a walk-in storefront open to everyone. When designers and end-users visit, they will be able to meet the whole team.

I am profoundly excited about the Shop itself and what it has to offer. The furnishings and art that I have curated for it speak to me as a designer and have since I first laid eyes on them. The focus is on unique, one-of-a-kind pieces, items you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else. The inventory is eclectic, ranging from antique pieces to mid-century, reflecting different periods, styles and cultures. Every single one is about individual identity – otherwise it wouldn’t be here.
